1. Eggs in Sainsbury {a London grocer} are not refrigerated. In fact, it sits on a shelf like granola bars sit on a shelf.
2. The sun rises around 8:15AM and sets around 4:15PM in London.
3. Speaking of time, I must learn military time, as they do not use AM and PM, and I'm very confused by it.
4. In order to get a UK bank account, one must have a US bank or employer reference. I should have done this before we left home {Note to self: In the future, do this before moving}.
5. I can't do anything here without a UK bank account. And paying with my US bank account makes everything 1.6 times more money.
6. I also can't do anything without having UK credit. My US credit does not count.
7. Phone plans here are surprisingly cheaper. I also don't have to be locked into a yearly contract, but rather I can pay by month for a Sim-card only plan and pop the card into my current phone {which we can't do until we have a UK bank account}.
8. Chips {aka fries} are served with everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, which is bad news for me, since I am a lover of all things potato and all things fried {I don't have to fit into that wedding dress, right?}.
9. There is such a thing as a pet passport, and we plan to get one for our pup, Angel, in order for her to travel in and out of the UK. You may laugh {it does sound silly!}, but without a pet passport, we would have to fill out loads and loads of paperwork {which would have to be approved by the vet, approved by the USDA, approved by Heathrow...} each time we bring her back to Chicago.
10. I need more than a week to get acclimated to my new surroundings, and in the meantime, I really miss home.
