Stonehenge is something I’ve always wanted to see. I can’t really explain why, other than I think it’s something I always heard about and read about in textbooks. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see these rocks {which is really what it boils down to: stones, very large stones}.
Seeing Stonehenge was a bit surreal {Am I really here? Pinching myself} and a bit disappointing {Oh, this is it? Just rocks in the middle of an open field?}.
The rocks are unbelievably giant in my mind, though I heard some people say it was a lot smaller than they envisioned. And while we got to walk all the way around the puzzling stones {there are various theories on the creation and history of this world wonder}, I had hoped to touch the rocks. I don’t know why, I’m sure that it feels like most rocks, but to say that I was able to physically touch a really old stone {I say really old because I don’t even know when it was built, although I should know from the audio guide I listened to…} would maybe give me some sort of bragging rights {maybe…}.
In any case, without further ado, feast your eyes on Stonehenge…
