Oh. em. gee. Double, oh. em. gee. I seriously think I've been missing out on life for the last 10 years by not eating meat. Everything has more flavor. My chipotle is a party full of flavors now, when added with grilled chicken. My lunch sandwiches are more fulfilling when having turkey. My inspiralized pasta {you need one of these. now.} is ahhhhh-mazing when adding grilled chicken. How could I have possibly missed out on all these flavors and foods for the last decade of my life?
In an effort to make up for my meatless past {isn't it crazy to think that Ross has only known me as a veg for our entire, 9-year relationship?!}, I've been trying out various meat dishes. I don't think I started at the right place, but I had the right mindset.
This past Friday, we went to Malaysia night in Trafalgar Square. This evening, food festival boasted the sights, smells, and tastes of East Asia, with food stalls and entertainment that reminded me of the Taste of Chicago. I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to start my meat-eating adventure here, as I'm not a huge fan of Asian food to begin with {besides the Americanized sushi and pho} but I did. While I'm happy we tried something totally out of our comfort zone, it was packed with people {I mean, what did we expect?!} and the meat, well, didn't seem like meat. It was chewy, yet tough in some places with a weird, nutty, downright awful sauce {insert poop emoji here}.
Needless to say, I will not be ordering meat with any Asian cuisines, but I am still on a quest to make up for lost time and incorporate meat into my diet little by little ;).
This doesn't even look like meat...ugh. We tossed this and ended our night with some wine and pizza {of course!}.
