So when we went to dinner with another couple who mentioned the ABC of meals, our ears perked up and we were instantly sold on the idea. So what is the ABC of meals?
The mission: Go through the alphabet and name a country that starts with that letter. Then find a restaurant for that specific country and try the food. Attempt to go through the entire alphabet to try different cuisines.
The rules: 1) We can't repeat a country's meal until we've gone through the entire alphabet {this may be difficult}. 2) We don't have to go through the alphabet in order. 3) We have to keep an open mind.
Our adaptation: Of course, I wanted to find a way to track the meals we eat and the restaurants we try. So I bought Scrabble pieces off Amazon. Every time we want to complete a mission, we pick a letter out at random. Once we eat, we record the restaurant we tried on the backside of the Scrabble piece. Then we can walk down memory lane when we've gone through the alphabet.
Soooooo {drum roll please!}.... our first country we tried was Lebanon. Thankfully, there is a Lebanese restaurant right by our flat, so we opted to support a local business and eat at Meejana. I was especially nervous, seeing that I'm as picky as a two-year-old when it comes to food {I really have regressed in age here, or it's quite possible I never grew up to begin with...}.
