The roundup of what I learned this week is below:
1. Breakfast tea is served everywhere and anywhere, at all times: gyms, pubs, offices, and of course, any restaurant.
2. Milk is typically stirred into the breakfast tea, along with a brown sugar cube {mmmm....}.
3. The tea is a lot stronger here than at home; I can't sleep after enjoying a cup of afternoon tea {how do the Brits do it?!}.
4. In order to enter and exit the tube, you must swipe your Oyster card {travel card}. Imagine all the foot traffic going out of the tube stations!
5. Fish + chips is not my favorite, and I must stop forcing myself to find one that I like.
6. The English seem to L.O.V.E. songs that are oldies {and sometimes not goodies}, like Seal, Celine Dion, TLC {so I creep, yeahhhh}. I have yet to hear rap, country, or current pop songs, and I'm dying for some good music.
7. The streets of London remind me of New York: crowded and dirty {trash everywhere}, which I had heard, but didn't believe until now.
8. Food spoils so fast here because there are less preservatives {this is a good thing for my health but a bad thing for someone who hates grocery shopping}.
9. Everyone runs or bikes to + from work with a mini-backpack, no matter the weather. In the rainiest and coldest of days, there's a high chance that you'll see someone in a tank and shorts.
10. The Super Bowl means nothing here, and while I don't really care for football, I also don't like to miss out on fun parties with delicious appetizers {#fomo = fear of missing out}. So this week, like in the past few weeks, I'm really missing home. Will my feelings eventually change?
